University of Toronto Phonetics Lab
The Phonetics lab is located on the ground level of Sidney Smith hall, on the outside of the purple block. We are distributed across three rooms.
The main acoustics lab is in SS573A. This is the room used for most perception and acoustic production studies, and it has a soundproof booth for high-quality recording.
The production lab is next door to the acoustics lab in SS573. It houses the EMA machine, and is generally used for articulatory data collection, including palatography, electropalatography, ultrasound, and EGG.
Preparing the EMA coils
We have a separate space (shared with the sociolinguistics lab) for phonetic data analysis.
